Dear Participant:

Earlier this week, we were informed by the manager at Bristoe Station Battlefield Heritage Park, David Born, that both the County Police and the Virginia Department of Transportation would not endorse either the US or CS march route for the 145th Bristoe Station. David has worked diligently trying to come up with a workable solution to this problem, but to no avail. As a result, all activities will be confined to the 133 acres of the park itself.

No one is more disappointed in this development as I having originated the idea of a march for both sides and put in countless hours on the planning of this part of the event. Nevertheless, I will push forward making this a memorable event for everyone involved and one worthy of your time and effort.

I know many of you were looking forward to the march portion of this event and I can understand if the loss of this has caused your enthusiasm for the event to lessen. In the event that you decide not to attend and would like a refund, please contact the registration coordination as listed on the event website.

This Sunday, a special meeting will be held to deal with logistics and activities that need to be adjusted due to the march being canceled. As soon as information is available it will be passed on to you via the event website. However the site for registration will remain the same as will the registration process.

We apologize for this last minute change of plans. I still hope to see all of you at Bristoe Station on October 11th.

Sincerely,

James D. Owens

on behalf of the 145th Bristoe Station planning committee.
